I am not at all impressed with his music either - I just cannot get into it but I have to admit that my musical tastes are not trendy at all. I was born in the 80's and am stuck firmly there liking music from a time I can't remember.
Despite the fact I cannot stand the guy I have to admit feeling the need to watch documentaries about him when they appear on TV so I have to agree that he is charasmatic (or maybe just a car crash).
One thing I must say is that he has a great way with writing creative lyrics and poetry and if he cleaned up his act a LOT I think I could get into him more as a person rather than a musician.
