I have to say the above is quite correct but remeber, a blog won't drive traffic to the main site, a great blog will drive traffic to the main site but great blogs don't just appear they are built with sweat and blood over a long period of time and you have to maintain that over a long period of time, you can't just decide to stop posting otherwise you'll loose readers.
