Default What am I?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and have read through a few posts so far and it seems like a nice friendly place!

I have a quick question, so here it is...

I graduated from university a year ago where I studied design (3D, 2D etc). I am currently working for a signage company as an Artworker, where I basically design things like shopfronts, banners, stationary etc.

I know my role is quite mixed, but it was my first job and I enjoy it, however, I am now looking for a new job to develop my career and for some new challenges. Here is where my problem lies, I am new to the design industry and I am looking around for jobs, and I have come across job adverts that ask for Artworkers and Graphic Designers...

What's the difference? Am I a graphic designer or an artworker? both of the adverts for each role ask for pretty much the same thing, so technically I could apply for both, but i'm just confused as to why there are two different job titles for similar work.

Some of the Artworker job adverts even state "Graphic Designers need not apply", why's this? are graphic designers seen in a totally different light to artworkers?

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
