Visual Stuido is a niceity to have. All it does is wrap commonly used functions and the FREE tools that Microsoft gives you with scripts to automate things like compilation and debugging.
Learning materials???? There's a $#17 TON of learning material. Hell, Google ASP.Net and you'll get zero returns (sarcasm).
Other than that Redistributable is a Windows PC. "Well you still gotta buy windows err err" Well you still gotta get a PC even with Linux.

Then you have NO BUSINESS programming ON A MACINTOSH since the business world uses PCs and the very CPU structure is different between the two.
