Did you ever consider how other designers might be interestedto see how the logo came to fruition. And im sure if its for a wine makers, then wine bottles traditionally use a cork - therefore your argument about scaling down for bottle caps becomes moot - yet the point of a logo having to look good at nearly 5px square is valid.
Im not trying to be unprofessional, I'm just trying to point out that just because the blueprints mean nothing to you, they may hold some interest to others.
