The problem isn't that it's bad (it is). The problem is getting the person to understand that fact for themselves.

And you're not going to do that with opinions. However if you sat, say, a dozen potential clients down and got their reactions, you'd be more convincing.

Very often, with sites like these, people will go through magnificent backflips. ....They'll say you're against "experimental" design -- despite never doing user testing or applying a methodology any proper experiment requires.

A lack of response. People leaving the site. No coversions or sales. All these will argue far louder than anything you can say.

Get evidence on your side -- proper evidence -- and you'll get people to change their opinion more often. For some people even a dozens of posts in a forum is still just opinion.
