Senior Designer
The Senior Designer is responsible for taking assigned creative projects from concept to completion. This includes all phases of the design process, including concept development, production, look and feel, graphic and interface design. The Senior Designer will work closely with the Art Director and/or Creative Director to help establish and maintain the visual integrity and consistency of all online/offline creative efforts. The Senior Designer will translate marketing and business objectives (landing pages, intergrated marketing programs, email campaigns, etc.) into solid design solutions.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Use experience, research and analysis to develop creative and innovative solutions to marketing objectives
  • Adapt creative styles as needed while maintaining creative, technical and brand standards universally
  • Translate rough concepts into working models
  • Provide multiple innovative design solutions for all online/offline creative problems
  • Contribute to the evolution and strategy of design policies and practices as applied to the implementation of standards, color, typography and visual expressions of the brand
  • Further the design toward a cohesive, unified vision through hands-on design, having a critical eye towards developing a consistent product for the project and the CafePress brand as a whole
  • Communicate complex design information in a project management context Interface with key client and project stakeholders to translate design concepts into viable solutions
  • Present and sell design concepts and support design from a practical standpoint
  • Provide creative leadership to designers and junior designers
  • Manage creative projects effectively and efficiently while maintaining priorities, deadlines and deliverables as set by the Creative Services Manager
  • Solicit feedback to ensure that all deliverables meet expectations
  • Make decisions regarding own work and make recommendations in regard to department
  • Act as a recognized and active resource on design issues for others in the Company
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will have solid experience in both consumer and corporate markets. Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts or a design related field is required with a minimum of 7 years of related work experience. Marketing, advertising, interactive, interface, print, user-centered and eCommerce design experience is required. Agency experience is a plus.

The position requires expert creative and design skills as they apply to typography, color, layout/composition, perspective and imagery. The ideal candidate must possess strong artistic design sensibilities and systems. Expert knowledge of optimization techniques, craft issues and performance considerations is a must. Solid project management and analytical skills required. Candidate must be highly organized, have significant experience managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines with a strong, almost obsessive, attention to detail. Ideal candidate will possess strong collaboration and influencing skills. Excellent grammatical skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, is key to success in this position. Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively under pressure and balance speed and quality.

The candidate must possess expert level knowledge of the following: Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, InDesign (and/or Quark) and Acrobat. Must be proficient in Macromedia Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, DHTML, JavaScript and AJAX required. Candidate must have the ability to promote a positive atmosphere throughout the team and organization.
