honest advice? i think the best way to go about learning the design of websites is take the same route i did to get me into the world of web design.

i started off by going on a site that offers free source websites to download with the PSD images. I played around with them in photoshop and changed colours and images and make pretty little things - basically just took it 1 step at a time

*NOTE - Dont use these templates for personal gain, to your own profit or pass them off as your own, its very very naughty *

By doing this i quickly learnt the fundamentals of web and graphic design and used good-tutorials.com t pick up alot of kool techniques.. within a week or two i was making my very own very kool websites using the PSD slicedimage method of making website... so thats my suggestion. once you have have mastered to art of making a nice site in photoshop.. then go on to all the complicated web development stuff - which i hate by the way!
