Sorry, yes, I would also agree that they are paying for copyright but isn't it common practice that if the logo were to be released then there would be an additional fee?

I kind of treat this scenario in the same way as if you purchased a font. You have the license to use the font on whatever you like, but you don't OWN that font, the copyright remains with the designer.

Never been that good at explaining myself, especially after several strong Polish lagers!!
