In response to carrotnapper's comments about wasting childhood.
As long as you don't do design 24/7 then its hardly a waste of your childhood in my opinion. It'll jus prepare you for later on in life if you do decide to go into design.
I'm doing my A levels at the moment, so I'm not getting as much designing done as i'd like, but I still have time to enjoy myself, despite the seemingly endless coursework, website/graphics designing among extra activities I take part in.
So in the long run, all this 'time wasting' will pay off and it'll help you greatly, and you can still find time to do fun things!
