Paddy,

The icon that you're seeing indicates that you're viewing a dFont file that is in one of your System Font folders. Since it's a Wingdings file, it's possible that the font does not contain the glyphs that you're trying to preview.

If the problem goes away with a restart, it could also be a system font cache problem where the operating system has a corrupt version of the font.
